Terms of Service

Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Acta’s website and application (together, the “Service”), operated by Acta, Inc. (“Acta,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you’re using Acta on behalf of a company, you’re agreeing on that company’s behalf and confirming you have the authority to do so.

Description of service

Acta is an AI-native meeting intelligence platform. It joins, records, or otherwise processes meetings you connect it to, and generates transcripts, summaries, decisions, and action items, which it can route to third-party tools you connect. Features available to you depend on your subscription plan.

Accounts & registration

You need an account to use Acta. You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know right away at hello@acta.ai if you suspect unauthorized use.

Subscription plans & billing

Acta offers a permanent Free plan and paid Starter, Team, and Enterprise plans, billed monthly or annually. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled beforehand. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we don’t provide refunds for partial periods except where required by law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Acta to: violate any law or the rights of others; upload or process content you don’t have the right to share; attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the Service; or use the AI outputs to make decisions about individuals (such as employment or credit decisions) without independent human review. We may suspend accounts that violate this section.

Meeting data & recording consent

You’re solely responsible for complying with recording-consent laws that apply to your meetings, including obtaining consent from participants where required. By using Acta to record or transcribe a call, you confirm you have the necessary rights and consents to do so, and you agree to indemnify Acta against claims arising from your failure to obtain them.

Third-party integrations

Acta can connect to third-party services such as Slack, Notion, HubSpot, and Jira at your direction. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and Acta isn’t responsible for their availability, content, or practices. Disconnecting an integration stops future routing but doesn’t retroactively remove data already sent.

Intellectual property

Acta retains all rights to the Service, including its software, models, and branding. You retain ownership of your meeting content; you grant us a limited license to process it solely to provide and improve the Service to you. We don’t use your meeting content to train models shared across other customers without your explicit opt-in.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

Acta is provided “as is.” AI-generated summaries, decisions, and action items are assistive and may contain errors – you’re responsible for verifying anything you rely on for business-critical decisions. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Acta isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

Termination

You may stop using Acta and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a security risk to the Service or other customers, with notice where reasonably possible.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local law requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll update the “last updated” date above, and for material changes, we’ll provide notice by email or in-product before they take effect. Continued use of Acta after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
