We’re building the AI that makes meetings matter.
The transcript was never the point
Acta started with a problem its founders kept living. Mara spent years at Loom watching teams talk past each other; Dev built speech models at Otter.ai and knew, better than most, that transcription alone is a dead end.
The things everyone accepted — that notes get lost, that action items go unassigned, that follow-up falls apart — didn’t have to be true if the AI actually understood the meeting. Eighteen months and a seed round later, that’s the whole company: intelligence that turns conversation into accountability.

AI should earn its name
We only say “AI” where it’s tied to a specific behavior — a decision caught, an owner assigned, a task routed. Never as decoration.
Accountability over activity
The point isn’t saving time in meetings — it’s making sure the person accountable for outcomes never has to chase anyone down again.
AI should earn its name
We’re 11 people who’d rather ship,
learn and correct than deliberate
for a week. Good judgment beats a
long process.
